Sørvest Launch

It has been a long time in the making, but at last we arrive here.
Since the beginning of my fascination with tailored menswear, there has always been a lingering sense that I wanted to do more than simply observe and appreciate it as a patron. My passion for this world extends to every aspect of it.
Over time, as my own preferences repeatedly led me further in search of exactly what I envisioned—often to the point of carrying out alterations myself when I felt something could be improved—it became clear to me: rather than continuing to wish for garments that did not yet exist, why not create them?
And so, Sørvest was born.

Sørvest is a brand established in Kyoto in 2025.

The name—literally meaning south-west—refers to three cities and their geographic positions within their respective countries.

Stavanger, Norway. My birthplace, and the city I called home for many years.

Kyoto, Japan. A city I deeply cherish, where I found love, and whose cultural heritage continues to inspire my aesthetic sensibilities.

Napoli, Italy. The home of Neapolitan tailoring, which first ignited my passion for tailored menswear.

Our ambition as a brand is to act as creators, curators, and collaborators—ensuring that every garment and product we present reflects uncompromising standards of quality, aesthetic integrity, and the stylistic principles that inspired the brand from the outset. All within the framework of a considered tailored wardrobe.

Creators
The original impulse behind Sørvest was the desire to create garments based on familiar silhouettes, yet refined in ways we believe are meaningful—particularly in practical terms. Our aim is not reinvention for its own sake, but thoughtful improvement.

We also seek to produce garments that reflect the stylistic sensibilities that Sando—the founder of outBespoken—has presented over the years. To realize this vision, we have formed close relationships with tailors and makers throughout the Kansai region, and Japan, ensuring that each piece meets our standards for quality and aesthetic detail. In doing so, we also honor our initial mission: to discover, support, and promote the traditions of Japanese tailoring and craftsmanship.

Curators
Where sourcing extends beyond Japan, our commitment remains the same: to offer only what we consider exceptional. At present, this means carefully curating garments and products from brands and producers we deeply respect and hold in the highest regard.
Our intention is not competition, but contribution. Whether a piece carries the Sørvest label or not, quality will always remain our foremost priority.

Collaborators
Over the years we have formed meaningful relationships with brands and makers whose dedication to quality and craft mirrors our own. These are partnerships we intend to continue nurturing and expanding. Through collaboration, we aim to merge visions and perspectives in order to create garments that are both thoughtful and distinctive.

What to expect from Sørvest
As our collection is now released, we continue to work closely with our friends and collaborators on a range of samples, prototypes, and projects planned for 2027.
